About Sandpiper yarn
 

Taught to knit by my mother as a young child, I have always loved the craft. A chance meeting with a hand-spinner, my future mentor, intrigued me. I immersed myself in the study of spinning and the possibilities of color in hand-painting. I was eventually inundated with so much yarn from my new hobby that I began to sell some just to make space in my home! Even though the initial goal was to support my spinning obsession, I found that other fiber artists loved and supported my product and the business has organically grown from there. 

Sandpiper yarn is inspired by nature and the colors that surround us. My brand reflects a love of gardening, the beach, birds, plants, flowers, and trees.  Our yarn colorways draws on earthly hues and tints that celebrate nature. Sandpiper fiber is hand-painted and spun at home in the midst of family—next to our garden, and a short stroll from the beach.

Sandpiper yarn is versatile and may be used for any fiber art project, but especially for creating accessories like hats, scarves, gloves and cowls. We use natural and organic fibers that allow for superior durability, breathability combined with a production process that is ecologically friendly.
